What IRI Customers Are Saying
"At Dr. Oetker, we believe that quality is the best recipe. It is our belief that recent developments within IRI have served to improve both the quality of data and the quality of providing this data. As a relatively new business to the U.K., Dr. Oetker was looking for a data solution that provided accurate, impactful and relevant insights but, more importantly, would deliver a proactive approach to the relationship. IRI Consumer Trends Expert Examines How to Re-Wire Convenience in Transforming Economy
Thom Blischok Leverages Latest IRI Convenience Store Research to Discover if Consumers are Willing to Pay for Convenience
WHO: Thom Blischok - President, Consulting and Innovation, Information Resources, Inc.
WHAT: The U.S. economy is undergoing a fundamental shift that will forever change all aspects of retailing. And, snacking could drop by as much as 25 percent as consumers look for new ways to conserve their dollars. To meet the needs of tomorrow’s consumers, convenience must be rewired. IRI consumer trend expert Thom Blischok will discuss how convenience can be transformed in his futuristic keynote presentation, “Re-Wiring Convenience: Consumer Tuning in this Transformational Economy.” Blischok will share blueprints for precisely tuning the convenience business around consumers, assortment and innovation.
WHY: Consumers are feeling the pinch of skyrocketing gas and food prices, and it is affecting where they shop and what they buy. The challenges of growing in this economy are significant, but there are windows of success. Blischok will reveal where those windows are and how to push them wide open by leveraging results of IRI’s recently completed convenience store research project driven by consumer focus groups, surveys and scan data from more than 10,000 convenience stores.
Blischok’s presentation will address such critical questions as:
- Is the current economy swaying consumers’ purchasing decisions, compelling them to buy more items at a convenience store when they stop to by gasoline?
- Do consumers expect to pay more at a convenience store?
- Are private label products really finding more acceptance in convenience stores?
- Are consumers buying the same items at convenience stores during this transforming economy?
