Publix Adopts IRI’s Apollo Web Publisher to Improve Merchandising Operations

Top Southeast Regional Retailer Expands IRI Relationship

CHICAGO, September 3, 2008 – Information Resources, Inc. announced today that it is expanding its relationship with Publix Super Markets, Inc., the largest employee-owned supermarket chain in the United States, with the implementation of IRI Apollo Web Publisher™ to support the management and distribution of planograms (POGs) to its stores to improve its merchandising operations.   Publix is integrating Apollo Web Publisher, a component of the Apollo Space Optimization solution suite, into its internal merchandising systems to serve as the portal for planogram (POG) information.

Publix Super Markets utilizes Apollo Web Publisher as a component of its shelf merchandising process.  The software is used to distribute POGs to the stores where it is available to both store associates and reset teams.  The POG management and distribution permits Publix to deliver the right POG to the right store and to improve on its speed-to-shelf for new items.

IRI Apollo Web Publisher is an easy-to-use, Web-based system that allows rapid and accurate distribution of POGs to their point of use. With it, you can capitalize on the promise of improved POG communication and improve compliance, resulting in in-store execution by gaining instant access to targeted POGs even from remote locations.

“The purchase of IRI Web Publisher by Publix demonstrates the market trend of using Apollo solutions to optimize and distribute POGs to stores, most efficiently” said Shaun Bossons, senior vice president, IRI Apollo Solutions Group. “It is important to note that the value and return on investment for building POGs is only realized when they are implemented at the shelf in a timely manner. All of the Apollo solutions are designed with this in mind.”
