Shopper Insight in ActionThis week, three senior IRI executives will outline strategies for improving marketing success during today’s economic transformation and highlight new consumer shopping trends and behaviors that have emerged during the current recession during their keynote presentations at the Shopper Insights in Action conference.

More then ever before, shoppers are redefining value by adjusting their spending patterns, creating new habits and adopting new money saving strategies that they are likely to practice well in the future.

Innovative CPG retailers and manufacturers are adjusting their strategies in real time to address the evolving needs of the “Downturn Generation” shopper. Retailers and manufacturers must collaborate more closely than ever before to take advantage of these changing attitudes and behaviors.

Staci Covkin, senior vice president of Consumer and Shopper Insights, and Steve Kim, vice president of Consumer and Shopper Insights, will examine how a shopper-centric strategy is critical to maximizing collaboration opportunities and provide tips that will allow attendees to focus on delivering value to both retailers and manufacturers through state-of-the-art analysis, data mining and collaborative use of retail loyalty data.

Tim Ressmeyer, partner, IRI Consulting & Innovation, will present a session on the new practices downturn generation shoppers have adopted.  He will outline the shopping and saving strategies this group is currently adopting and which of those strategies will remain, even after an economic recovery.
